Evidence that the sides of the river is reclaimed land
According to the pictures shown, it appears that the size of the Singapore River has reduced in size by a small amount. It is no longer as wide as in the 19 and 20th centuries, but the difference is not so substantiate. Also, the sides of the river is lined with walls of stone. This means that the sides of the river must have been reclaimed, therefore, reducing the width of the river. Since it is reclaimed land, the sides of river cannot be eroded easily, thus, the shape and size of the river should not change due to natural forces.
